WHAT: The community is invited to attend the 1st Annual Cut-a-Thon on Friday, July 27 from 2:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Pavilion & lawn area at the Lapeer Historic Courthouse. The outdoor 'Cut-A-Thon' event features food vendors, face painting, putt-putt golf, silent auction, clowns, balloons and many more family activities.

The host of the 'Cut-A-Thon' event is Beautiful U Salon & Spa, and local sponsors include Xtreme Results, Ulmanis Veterinary Clinic, New Beginnings Family Church, Dagwood's & Blondie's Sweet Boutique, MAGPIE Oil Change, S.D. Electric, Tiny Treats Daycare, Codman, Josette Rabideaux Associate Broker Team One Town and Country Licensed Appraiser, Dave's Family Concession & Hadley Clipper. 70% of all proceeds will benefit the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation of Michigan to help raise awareness about this incurable life-threatening brain condition that affects 1 in every 500 newborns, and over 1 MILLIONS Americans today, including Lapeer resident 4-year-old Hawke Adams.

The Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation, an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c) (3) charitable organization,educates the community by raising the level of awareness about hydrocephalus and provides support to families, friends, and children affected by this brain condition. 

 

The PHF also raises money for and works with the medical community in searching for a cure and additional treatment options for those with hydrocephalus. Additionally, the PHF advocates on behalf of the members of the hydrocephalus community and works with policy makers at the state and federal levels to raise awareness and push for moreresearch and support in the fight against hydrocephalus.
